For me I&#039;ve found it scary and difficult asking people for more money then they might expect, especially when you&#039;re just getting started and they know you&#039;re just getting started as well. The thing is though, your article is 100% correct in addressing why we need to keep our rates in line with if not HIGHER than the going rate.  From first hand experience I can attest that when you charge for something below its value you only work with people who perceive the value as exactly that, little to none.  Ultimately that makes for a miserable teaching experience and nobody wins in that situation.  Thanks for writing this!]]></description>
