Summer in the Studio
Though the temperatures here in Dallas, Texas have screamed summer! for several weeks now, it’s hard to believe that it still is not officially summer yet! Some of our students have been on summer break now for a couple weeks, while the remainder of public schools wrapped up yesterday. Our official summer calendar for Studios of Sarah Strout begins next week, and with our students having packed summers, it seems nearly every week of teaching will be different!
Summer lessons can be a challenge for a number of reasons. Summer teaching schedules are anything but consistent with family vacations, special camps, swimming lessons and a long list of other activities students are involved in over June, July and August.
How do your studios adapt and schedule for summer? And as teachers, how can we encourage our kids to keep up a consistent practice schedule when lessons tend to become another activity on their busy summer calendars?
